Mindful Relationships

For more than 25 years Arti Yagnik has empowered children, adolescents and adults to positivelychange the way they think and feel about themselves and their relationships. Arti was the senior consultant pyschotherapist at the Family Relationship Service and is now the director of Mindful Relationships; a Counselling and Mediation service that helps people explore, address and resolve internal and external relationship difficulties. Arti is a sensitive and caring Mental Health Social Worker, Family Law Mediator and Systemic Psychotherapist; her approach is intense and fun. She has an uncanny ability to help children and adults explore the underlying cause of their distress and dysfunction and supports them to find long term permanent solutions.

Arti is a highly knowledgeable, skilled and experienced Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and Systemic Psychotherapist, her clients benefit from her charismatic and confident approach. She helps individuals, couples and families move beyond problems such as divorce, family dysfunction, abuse, addiction and mental health issues including, bipolar, depression and anxiety.  Arti uses a wide range of psychotherapeutic and psychoanalytic theories and techniques when working with clients, enabling them to explore their emotions, thoughts and behaviours. Through continual feedback from her clients Arti is able to help them to develop and implement strategies and solutions that can resolve their problems.

Arti's ability to transfer her knowledge and experience of mental health issues and therapuetic counselling to working with parents who are separating has meant that she is a leading Family Law Mediator in Sydney, Her success in helping parents work out ways of co-parenting without litigation has been noteworthy.

Arti does not believe in keeping children and adults in therapy any longer than necessary. Indeed, most of her clients are able to identify and appreciate positive changes in themselves and their situation within the first session and more long term solutions by six to 8 sessions. She is an enthusiastic Individual, Couple and Family Therapist who is able to view each of her clients as unique individuals who are experiencing patterns of thinking, feelings and behaviours that keep them stuck and unhappy. Only when these patterns are identified, explored and changed can they begin to experience positive sense of self and positive relationships.

Throughout her career as a Social Worker and Psychotherapist Arti has been at the forefront of contributing to and implementing models of therapy that improve and enhance people’s lives, including Brief Therapy, The Post Sexual Abuse Project, Children and Self-Esteem, Child Informed Mediation and Radical Exposure Therapy. Arti has also taught and supervised Social Work and Family Therapy staff and students during the last 25 years.
